The lockdown started spring break of sophomore year and because of that, we had to switch to online learning. It was simultaneously hard and easy. It was hard to pay attention to lectures when I’m in my room, bundled up in bed. However, I liked it, because I had the freedom to watch tv in between classes and I didn’t have to commit so much time. As a teacher, I will probably find a way to have students more engaged when doing class online 


Open educational resources are learning resources that anyone can access and can use any time. They are also typically distributed online. One online resource that I found about OER is creativecommons.org. The blog post I’m reading is about how Creative Commons joined the Civil Society letter telling the U.S to be more open towards the uses of Ai.

Some skills I acquired from the two projects were using the recording feature and embedding the links to other slides in text. In assignment 4, I had to learn the first skill. It was really difficult to record and look at my notes, because I would sometimes accidentally move to the next slide. It got really annoying after a few times, because I always had to start over. On the other hand, working on the other project was very easy and I enjoyed every second of it.

 I have learned a lot from the web design project. One skill I learned was how to embed a calendar, using Google. I remember using similar skills during my last portfolio project, when I connected my twitter to my bogspot, so it kind of reminded me of that. Blog #1: All About Me

 Hey, I'm Haylie Savarese! I'm a second-year student at Florida State University, studying psychology and minoring in education. I'm taking this semester entirely online in my hometown, Jacksonville, FL. Other than that, I'm excited to be apart of EME 2040, and I can see this being a class that I would really enjoy! While I was not an "IPad kid" growing up, I used various forms of technology a lot for school, especially during the COVID19 pandemic. In highschool, I got really familiar with this platform called "schoology". While it was very similar to Canvas,I was so used to using it that I sometimes call Canvas "schoology" by mistake and people would get really confused.  I got Instagram when I was in elementary school, when my friend introduced it to me. We were at Dicks Wings for dinner with our parents and other family friends, when my friend showed me this social media app she got. I thought it was so cool, I downloaded it my iPad. Right when I got it, I followed my friend, as well as other people I knew. I made my first post. It of course, was nothing extravagant, it was just a selfie of my friend and I sitting at our table. The longer I've had it, the better I got at posting. Instead of posting a casual selfie frequently, I started posting photos of my friends and I that other people took, and these would only be on special occasions like birthdays, events, or holidays. Instagram gave me the opportunity to show people I know what I've been up to, see what others are doing, and make new friends with mutuals or my friends' friends.
