If I become a teacher in the future, I would inform my students on copyright and the consequences of stealing someone else's work. To ensure that they won't do that, I would put in the instructions of all the written assignments that they have to be written in their own words and anything that isn't must have in-text citations. I believe that students should learn and get into the habit of understanding the material to the point where they could interpret it in their own words, because that's an important skill to have, especially if they get tested on this. Also, copying other's work is unethical and if one gets caught, they'll get into a lot of trouble.
Cyberbullying is the act of continuously harassing someone intentionally online. Ever since the the birth of online platforms, cyberbullying has sadly become more common. Since this has become a huge problem, I would address this to my future class by simply doing a lesson on it like I would any other one, and at the end of that unit, I will do quiz them on it. Hopefully this will help them to be good digital citizens!
Generative AI is something that has been widely used recently and one popular platform that uses this is Chat GPT. If you've heard of the Shel Silverstein's "The Homework machine", the concept is similar to that. Basically, you tell an AI bot a topic and a word count, and it will generate a piece of writing in seconds. This has made writing papers and completing projects a lot easier for students, however this requires so little application of knowledge and little work. So I think that while it may help the students finish something in a timely manner, it will hurt them in the long run because they slowly will forget the skill of putting things in their own words, as it is "no longer useful".
I had a lot of fun while working on the newsletter. When I first read the instructions, I didn't fully know what it meant until I saw the examples of ones done by others. Since this was my first time creating one, especially in Word, I learned a lot, like how to create a text box. Of course, the first try isn't going to be perfect, so one thing I really need to improve on is how to fomat it. While my newsletter was visually pleasing, it needed to be formatted into collumns instead of text boxes. Other than that, it looked great, especially considering that it was my first. In the future, I feel like what I learned when doing assignment 1, can be pretty useful when trying to use Word in my future job, especially if the task requires designing something.
